Taking  no  action_ _ _ to  start  the  discussion  of  Living  Wills  and  Legal  Wills and  about  your  future  and  the  future  of  your  family  is  too  much  of  a  gamble!                                                                                     Many  know,  and  often  think  about  the  necessity  of  having  written  plans  for  their  futures  and  the  potential  unexpected, but  for  some  reason  they  keep  putting  off  the  inevitable.                        That  is  unfortunate,  because  for  the  welfare  of  all  concerned,  it  should  be  done.

The  questions  often  arise?_ _ “Who  will  start  the  conversation”?  “When  and  Where”?_ _ “How  would  one  start  the  conversations ” ?

Perhaps  here  is  a  thought  for  you  to  consider ?                                     How  about  the  next  social  functions  you  attend?                                 Whether  at  a  dinner  party,  cocktail  party,  or  entertainment  affair  with  two  or  more  couples,  start  the  conversations  with  questions  like:                                                                                                              Do  any  of  you  folks  know  anything  about  Living  Wills?   What  do  you  think  about  them ?  , Do  you  know  any  couple  who  has  one ?,  Does  anyone  have  any  experience  with  selecting  a  Power  of  Attorney ?,  Is  it  important  to  have  a  Living  Will  drawn  up  with  directions  on  how  to  protect  against  any  infirmaties ?, Can  you  offer  any  advice  about  how  you  did  it  ? ,Did  you  use  a  financial  planner  or  lawyer  to  help  you  ?,  Were  they  helpful  and  would  you  recommend  them ?,  Were  you  satisfied  with  their  charges ?,  Did  they  suggest  that  you  also  have  a  Legal  Will  drafted  for  your  family ?, Did  they  offer  to  help  you  draft  a  Legal  Will ?.

Hearing  from  other  family,  close  friends  or  acquaintances  about  what  they  have  done  often  eases  the  atmosphere  in  which  these  delicate  topics  can  be  discussed.  In  many  cases  involving  as  many  family  and  close  friends  in  the  discussion  and  planning  of  a  Living  Will  and  a  Legal  Will  is  of  warm  comfort.   Having  as  many  family  and  friends  around  who  will  know  something  about  your  affairs  if  anything  happens  could  only  be  considered  a  plus.

It  is  a  known  fact  that  neither  husbands/wives/partners  like  to  discuss  their  mortality  and  death.  Yet,  because  it  is  inevitable,  it  is  a  vital  subject  that  must  be  addressed  rationally.
